Yaogangxian mine in Hunan Province is one of China's greatest mineral specimen producing mines, especially for Fluorite. The best specimens from Yaogangxian mine are exquisitely glassy, with excellent transparency and often with an alluring pale violet-blue colour. This small cabinet specimen from Arvid Pasto's Collection (no. AEP1010) features intergrown sharp cubic crystals, the largest reaching 4.6 x 3.2 cm. These crystals show excellent transparency and are in incredible condition. A small cluster of white Calcite crystals sits nicely inbetween the join of the main Fluorite crystals. This beautiful specimen features as Figure 2 in Arvid Pasto's 2009 book, Collector's Guide to Fluorite.
