Deep green chloritoid on matrix. Collected in 1996. A good representative example for the species.Chloritoid is an iron aluminum silicate mineral that typically forms in metamorphic rocks subjected to moderate pressure and temperature. It commonly appears as dark green to black platy crystals and is associated with minerals such as chlorite, garnet, and quartz.
