A cluster of lustrous attractive bluish green elbaite crystals with quartz. This is in good condition all around.Mining at Paprok in Nuristan Province, Afghanistan takes place in a mountainous region known for gem bearing pegmatite deposits. Small scale workings have produced minerals such as tourmaline, beryl, and other pegmatite species from pockets within granitic pegmatites hosted in metamorphic rocks. Most operations have been carried out by local miners using simple underground methods to extract gem quality crystals. Paprok is recognized among collectors and gem dealers for colorful tourmaline specimens from this remote Afghan mineral district.
