This richly coloured Fluorite miniature specimen comes from Yaogangxian mine - one of China's most important mineral-producing mines. From Arvid Pasto's renowned worldwide Fluorite collection this piece is dominated by a 2.8 cm tall, glassy, violet-purple stepped cuboid. This very glassy crystal sits upon a combination of Muscovite, Dolomite, Calcite, Quartz and Pyrite. The rounded upper corners of the Fluorite crystal superficially look chipped, but careful inspection reveals that they are natural, just very finely stepped, producing an almost rounded appearance. The matrix features small terminated colourless Rock Crystal type Quartz crystals, cream coloured curved Dolomite crystals and white flattened rhombs of Calcite with darker coloured Chlorite/Pyrite. A lovely Chinese miniature Fluorite.
