This very small cabinet-size Fluorite is from one of China's most famous mineral occurrences - Yaogangxian mine. Renowned for beautiful large individual Fluorite cubes perched on a variety of matrix, this 2.5 cm wide transparent pale sea-blue/green Fluorite crystal sits upon a bed of small rosetted platy cream-coloured Calcite crystals. The Fluorite crystal is in excellent condition, with no obvious chipping to its edges. An internal cleavage line is visible, but there is no sign of impact, or repair. The main display surface of the Fluorite cube is slightly frosted with microscopic stepped surfaces, but it is still quite glassy. Ex Arvid Pasto Collection, this is a really cute Fluorite for a smaller display.
