Around 1980-1981, there was an amazing find of beautiful and distinctive fluorites at the well-known Huanzala Mine in Peru. Nicknamed the 'Pink Pocket', the gemmy and lustrous crystals from that discovery are pink octahedra with mint-green cores. These are, even half a century later, recognizable on first sight! They are unique in the fluorite world, to this day. This fine miniature features two intergrown, sharp, lustrous, and gemmy fluorite octahedra with the classic coloration for this pocket. Nearly complete all around, there is only some minor contacting along the back and bottom-rear, as we would display this; but the eye-catching luster, form, and color really carry the day. Additionally, the strong fluorescence ranges from purple/pink to blue, depending on the wavelength. This strong variation is exceptional in and of itself. Formerly in the Art Soregaroli Collection, this is an excellent and aesthetic example from this famous find which we sold at the time we dispersed that collection around 2015 or so (and have recently purchased back). It comes with a custom base.
