An outstanding and very aesthetic scheelite and muscovite combination from the famed Pingwu beryl mine; and this has always been one of my favorites since I first saw it acquired by Irv Brown in his miniatures collection in the late 1990s. This kind of color and gemminess only really came out at that time, barring only a few specimens since then. The color is simply shocking - This specimen features a single gemmy, highly-lustrous, 3.5 cm scheelite crystal nestled perfectly among hexagonal plates of pearly muscovite. The scheelite has a fiery, deep-orange color with brilliant internal flashes, and complex stepped facing. The bright, ghostly-white fluorescence is typical. Classic for Pingwu, this excellent specimen is literally an iconic miniature of everything you could want in one of these at high quality for condition, balance, color, and sharpness. It is also a featured Mindat photo for the mine, if you look. We have seen thousands of Chinese scheelite, but every now and then, one stands out.
