A superb specimen of Calcite and Quartz from the Shaft 366, Alberoda, Germany. The Calcite richly adorns the specimen forming intergrown ribbons of nail-head crystals, to an average of 3 mm across the crystal terminations. The specimen also has many intergrown double terminated gemmy Quartz crystals measuring to 0.8 cm. Both minerals have overgrown parallel Quartz-replaced crystals of Calcite, which are also heavily included by deep maroon coloured Hematite. The matrix is a milky Calcite on what appears to be an igneous rock. A most attractive specimen for the location.
