At 9.6 cm in length, the longer of two slightly divergent glassy prismatic Elbaite tourmaline crystals is a really excellent size for display, but the second Elbaite crystal compliments it nicely. Both tourmaline crystals are terminated perfectly with sharp smooth flat pinacoid faces and very pronounced straight prism sides with clusters of pale pink Lepidolite mica scattered upon the lower parts of the prismatic crystals, but especially so on the larger crystal. This superb Brazilian specimen is from Coronel Murta in Minas Gerais state and presents the classic colours from this area of pegmatites, from strawberry red/pink near the base up through strawberry orange to a thin intense teal blue-green layer to an even thinner strong vivid raspberry red tip. It comes with a custom-made Sunnywood acryllic display stand which allows it to stand magnificently for display. It has three recorded repairs.
