This stocky, prismatic crystal of bi-coloured pastel green and pink coloured Elbaite tourmaline from the famous Mawi Pegmatite in Nuristan Province, Afghanistan is actually a cluster of many parallel crystals. Off-matrix, this 8.1 cm tall specimen has a custom-made Sunnywood acryllic base. The crystal has a weight of 176g and is terminated with classic tourmaline-style sloping pyramidal faces but stepped at different heights and with many thin crystals lined up on one side. Prominent natural crystallized grooves run along its length around all sides, in a classic tourmaline style. Its colour changes from a rich bubblegum pink at its base upwards into a soft pale pink and into pale peppermint green to sea green with its excellent translucency demonstrated with backlighting. There is some minor damage to parts of the termination, but no repairs and it displays really well.
