Showing the iconic bi-colour strawberry to raspberry red body and striking teal blue-green flat pinacoid termination for which the Coronel Murta pegmatites are famed, this smaller cabinet-sized display tourmaline is remarkably attractive. It features a single, main, 4.3 cm tall by 0.9 cm wide, strikingly colourful prismatic 'blue-cap' Elbaite crystal rising up dramatically from a Quartz crystal with organic-like stacked growths of colour-zoned violet, lilac and cream coloured Lepidolite mica and colourless to white, glassy, bladed Cleavelandite crystals rising up around the base. This specimen comes with a custom-made acryllic display stand. As is typical of these extremely rare intensely coloured tourmalines it has been repaired and restored, but to an extremely high quality. With good backlighting this piece displays magnificently well.
