This stocky, terminated, prismatic crystal of bi-coloured pastel green and pink coloured Elbaite tourmaline comes from the famous Mawi Pegmatite in Nuristan Province, Afghanistan. Off-matrix, this 6.9 cm tall individual crystal has a custom-made Sunnywood acryllic base. The crystal has a weight of 190g and is terminated with a classic tourmaline sloping three-sided pyramid, but with other 'stepped' terminations around the edges, some with a sprinkling of greyish-purple Lepidolite mica crystals on top. Its colour changes from intense bubblegum pink at its base upwards into a pale peppermint green with its excellent translucency demonstrated with backlighting.
