Datolite
This specimen features botryoidal datolite, also known as botryolite, covering the top of the matrix with its characteristic rounded, grape like crystal formations. Botryolite is a rare variety of datolite known for its smooth, globular habit and unique aesthetic, making it a visually appealing addition to any collection. It comes from the historic Arendal mining district in southern Norway, a locality renowned since the 18th century for producing a number of species. This piece is preserved with an antique label, as shown at the end of the video, dating it to the early 20th century, adding provenance and historical significance. A classic European mineral, it combines aesthetic charm, rarity, and collectible heritage in one exceptional specimen.
