Originally labelled as Tetrahedrite and Chalcopyrite it is clear that there are many small Galena covering the surface of this small cabinet-sized piece too. It is from the famous Herodsfoot mine in Cornwall and the Tetrahedrite presents the iconic tetrahedral crystal form with golden coatings of Chalcopyrite in the classic association. There is much damage to be seen, but it is also very rich, especially in Tetrahedrite, which extends right through the Quartz veinstone. With diligent trimming there is potential to create several fine miniature-sized classics. Ex Malcolm Southwood Collection, no. MS 2010.134.
