Orthoclase, 9 cm, from Nuevo, California. Collected in 1960 at a now buried quarry (now a housing development) in southern California. Large feldspars and nice garnets were found. The best garnet was lost while changing a flat tire on the Riverside Freeway; it fell out of a pocket and could not be found again despite several attempts. Photo by Jeff Scovil.
