Celestine
Celestine, 7 cm, from Yate, Somerset, England. Found during a visit to the site, now buried and a housing development. Donated a number of single crystals and a celestine-filled geode to the British Museum. My main memory: red, sticky, messy mud! Took friend Professor Mike Hart, expert on dynamical X-ray diffraction, along. Lectured at Royal Fort in Bristol for 4 months. Photo by Jeff Scovil.
