Pyrite, Quartz
Pyrite, dodecahedra on quartz replacing a coral, 1.3-mm crystals, from the Ward Stone quarry, Monon, White County, Indiana; collected in 1984. Stone quarries in this area are often sited on pinnacle-reef structures when a pure limestone is desired. Terry Huizing collection; Dan Behnke photo.
