Azurite crystals on chrysocolla, 9 cm, from the Burra Burra mine, Burra, South Australia. Donated in 1881 by Sir Henry Ayers, South Australian Premier and Secretary of the South Australian Mining Association, owners of the extremely rich Burra Burra (“Monster”) mine. Jeff Scovil photo (SAM G2386).
