Bornite on barite with hematite, 6.5 cm, with one of the world’s largest known single crystals of bornite (4 cm), from the Olympic Dam mine at Roxby Downs, South Australia. Bornite is the official state mineral of South Australia. The big crystal is perched on a tabular barite crystal, flanked by a smaller group of intergrown bornite crystals and a small rosette of bladed hematite. Collected by the late Karl Eibl in 2003.
