Lead with laumontite, quartz and biotite, 12 cm, from Perilya Southern Operations mine, Broken Hill, New South Wales, Australia. The native lead occurs in a late-stage vein cutting across the Broken Hill orebody. Isotopic analysis indicates that it is genetically related to Cambrian epithermal galena deposits in the region and not to the Precambrian Broken Hill orebody. Photo: Malcolm Southwood.
