Rhodochrosite with quartz, sphalerite and pyrite, 12 cm, from the Sweet Home mine near Alma, Park County, Colorado. After more than a decade of looking, I finally found the rhodochrosite that called to me: a gem crystal with sharp edges and true cherry-red color, its perfection in full display in isolation on matrix.
