Some amazonites are iconic for their combination of shape and color; and some finds stand above others. A dramatic and imposing "slab of blue" that stands upright and draws the eye so quickly, this is an unrepaired and relatively large amazonite cluster from one of my own favorite discoveries: The Jack Rabbit claim worked by Rock Currier and Bob Bartsch in the 1980s. The major crystal is 8 cm tall, 5 cm wide, and so sharp that it looks refined and carved like porcelain - the impact is truly obvious in person; and I feel the combination of sharp geometry and strong turquoise color makes this pocket among the great and memorable pockets of so many discoveries in this region of the USA. Rock's label is retained - we can assume he self collected it as he has noted in the past which pieces he traded, bought, or inherited from his collecting partner (Bob predeceased him). All of the crystals are in perfect condition and only contacted at the bottom where removed from the pegmatite pocket. Remarkably, this has no repairs, unusual for this material.
