It might seem remarkable, but there are very few localities in Arizona known to have produced good crystallized Pyromorphite specimens. Hardshell mine at Hardshell Gulch in the Patagonia Mts, Santa Cruz Co. is one of the few but specimens are certainly not commonly seen. This very large miniature piece shows its classic form very well indeed. Upon it, very glossy yellow, rounded, almost barrel-shaped Pyromorphite crystals, to 3.5 mm across, coat a siliceous matrix and in places cement and fill gaps in-between brecciated fragments of rock.
