Cerussite
Unknown Owner
Tsumeb mine has without question produced some of the world's finest crystallized Cerussite specimens. Remarkably, it is less the individual single crystal, but the twinned crystals for which it is so renowned. These, and in particular the famous 'snow-flake' twins are usually off-matrix, but this amazing specimen is the opposite. On matrix, the large and well-formed complex cyclic-twinned Cerussite crystal aggregate feels really top-heavy, owing to the significant density of Cerussite in relation to the matrix. At about 6 cm by 4 cm this Cerussite crystal is significant and although it has slight surface wear it is very impressive and displays very nicely. Ex Kessler Collection.
