NATIVE Silver
Unknown Owner
Specimens of Native Silver from the famous historical mining town of Príbram in Central Bohemia are very rare and are now extremely collectible. This magnificent miniature specimen has everything going for it. Not only is an older classic piece, coming from the renowned collection of Simone and Peter Huber in Austria (who themselves obtained it in 1979 - as their specimen no. 1955), but it is so graceful in its sculptural form. It comprises a thick 3.8 cm wire (or wires, as it is made up of many thick interwoven strands), curving gently up to a thicker 'head'. This wire rises up out from a Siderite/Ferroan Dolomite matrix with Galena (and possibly Acanthite) as patches within the matrix. It is heavily tarnished, but this provides assurance of its undoubted age and several smaller wires twist off from the main 'rope' adding significantly to its wonderful character. The specimen is mounted to a small acryllic base for display. An absolute classic from the Czech Republic.
