This extremely rich miniature-sized crystallized Native Silver comes from the famous Gowganda area in Cobalt-Gowganda Region, Timiskaming District, Ontario, Canada. Although it is not more precisely provenanced well-crystallized Native Silver was not actually that common in this rich silver mining district and so perhaps there is a collector out there who knows more precisely which mine it came from. The Native Silver is also partially coated, or encapsulated, with a dull, rounded, somewhat waxy dark grey to black phase, but where the underlying Native Silver is exposed it displays excellent dendritic, branching forms of elongated crystals with a bright pinkish-silvery-white metallic appearance. Ex Martin and Michael Günther (1951-2007 & 1956-2021) Collection.
