There appears to be much more to be discovered about this undoubtedly very old Native Silver specimen from Schneeberg from David Hardman's collection. It is a very dense piece and has a historic looking surface patina. Under magnification it is clear that it contains much Pyrite, but as unusual microbotryoidal growth encasing dendrites which were initially though to be Native Silver, but paragenetically fit with Native Bismuth, for which Schneeberg is the Type Locality. Native Silver does though appear to be present as tarnished darker grey to black areas within the beige coloured matrix. Ex David Hardman Collection no. 4702.
