The colour of this wire Native Silver from the Sarbai Deposit at Rudny, Kostanay Region, Kazakhstan is exceptional, but this is what this deposit was renowned for. Found way back in the late 1980s and 1990s, the wire Native Silver's from Sarbai really grabbed people's attention, but the supply stopped shortly afterwards. This beautiful miniature from Sarbai consists of a disseminated sulphide-bearing veinstone matrix, with microcrystals of a zeolite (perhaps Stilbite), with a profusion of delicate bright silver-white metallic wires of Native Silver curling out from the surface. These reach up to 9 mm in length and provide a very attractive show.
