A group of beautiful gemmy, cherry-red rhodochrosite crystals to 3.5 cm is associated with a diverse group of minerals including crystals of fluorite, galena, quartz, and apatite in this fine specimen from the 18-03 Pocket, Detroit City Portal, Sweet Home Mine, Alma, Park Co., Colorado, USA. The 18-03 pocket was one of the smallest and also one of the highest-quality pockets encountered at the Detroit City Project. This piece has a lot going for it :high-quality rhodochrosite crystals, great associations, and a very collectible specimen size.
