One might think that this lovely 'bubbly' botryoidal Malachite display specimen from L'Etoile du Congo mine (Star of Congo) in the Katanga Copper Crescent, Dem. Rep. of Congo is a new find but it is not. In fact, coming from Martin Kershaw's collection, it quite probably dates to several decades ago, or more. It has a quite amazing tactile appearance, being very smooth with a uniform matt mid-green surface colour. For its age it is in superb condition and with a display surface measuring 11 x 11 cm it is a really great size for display.
