OPAL ps. after Bivalve
What is rarer than a Precious Opal from Coober Pedy in Australia? A Precious Opal Bivalve of course, and this one from Martin Kershaw's Collection is a stunner. Not only is it quite large, at 4 cm across, but it is in superb condition and its banding and play of rainbow colours is beautiful. These must rank as some of the best looking fossils in the world, but they are stunning as mineral specimens too. However, they are rare, and consequently don't come along very often, usually only when older collection get resold.
