For a time (c. 1920s) the green Pyromorphite from Kabwe mine (Broken Hill mine) in Central Province, Zambia was considered to be amongst the world's very best examples of the species, but newer finds at places like Les Farges mine in France and Bunker Hill mine in the USA have pushed Kabwe mine back. Added to this, it is extremely rare now to see any specimens from Kabwe mine, but the flip side is now their absolute rarity and classic status. This very large cabinet-sized display specimen from Martin Kershaw's collection has it all - classic vibrant green colour, huge scale, and distinctive seed-shaped tapering crystals. Usually the preserve of major world museums, to see an impressive old-time Pyromorphite such as this available for sale is itself a rare thing.
