Tourmaline with Lepidolite and Albite var. Cleavelandite$20,000.00

Wire transfers available, to set up
A classic, robust Himalaya tourmaline with intense coloration, that is associated with some associated blades of albite and small books of lepidolite as an added bonus. It is lustrous and translucent with a gorgeous, rich pink color with some green at the base. It has an intense and strong color saturation, way beyond the normal, in part because of its shocking thickness. It also displays vertical striations typical of most tourmalines, although very dramatic in this case. This gorgeous crystal is sharply terminated with a glassy, flat, pedion termination on top. There is a cluster of bright white albite var. cleavelandite crystals at the base and is associated with at least a dozen 4 to 8 mm, translucent lavender lepidolite crystals for nice accent. The tourmaline has a complex area at the back of the termination where it is lighter colored and looks like secondary growth typical of the strange growth features of Himalaya Mine tourmalines (and interesting to see, in detail!). It is accented by a 8 mm crystal that juts out at an angle. There is even evidence of a very subtle, low-profile, sidecar crystal at the base essentially embedded within the main crystal. This is an absolute classic, and it has ideal proportions as a display specimen! From the Jack Halpern Collection. This style and size, saturation and color palette, is an old pattern. It is almost certainly from the Ralph Potter era of mining here, and thus from before the 1970s operations by Larson et al. 246 grams. Please note that these are enormously sensitive to light spectrum and can look pink to red to magenta, depending on the lighting. We show it in several kinds of lighting but, for what it is worth, Himalaya tourmalines often look most strongly colored in simple normal overhead room lights, and gain a little "hot sparkle" in LED lighting.
