Chrysocolla ps. Azurite$2,450.00

A superb thumbnail pseudomorph of chrysocolla after azurite from, of all places, Idaho! From the collection of legendary field collector, well known mineralogist, and organizer of the Seattle Show, Bart Cannon (1950-2019). These pseudomorphs are not at all common from the Cuddy Mountain prospect pits and this is an exceptional one - said to be the best single crystal he found on a day in 1973, by the collector! At nearly one inch, this pseudomorph has beautiful green color, with well-defined former azurite crystal faces and the surface is quite glossy! Close inspections shows it to be two, very much intergrown, tight, parallel growth crystals. I have never seen such a perfect or lustrous chrysocolla after azurite crystal pseudomorph of this size from anywhere! These are incredibly rare on the market, especially as good as this one. All specimens of this quality came from a single find, I was told, when I bought this from Bart in 2015 in a small group of items from his collection that he sold to pay for building a new X-ray machine in his basement. He kept this from 1973 until 2015, and we are proud to present it here as a very unique USA thumbnail specimen.
