This very distinctive Quartz specimen containing mint-green phantom inclusions of chromium-bearing Muscovite (the variety known as Fuchsite) is from the central highlands of Madagascar, at Ihovitra. Specimens of this attractive variety of Quartz started to appear from Ihovitra in about 2010 and by about 2013 were seen at international mineral shows but the supply since then has dried up. What is seen now are specimens that have come from the original find as they are released from older collections. This small cabinet-sized cluster of long prismatic Quartz crystals is in fine condition, with excellent colourless, transparent, pyramidal terminations and the characteristic pale mint-green inclusions lower down and inside the prism which also becomes more milky white towards the base. The longest Quartz crystal reaches about 5 cm in length.
