Shattuckite is a very rare copper silicate hydroxide but in the few deposits where it occurs in any significance it forms as the most eye-catching velvety smalt-blue to powder-blue crusts of acicular crystals lining cavities. Kandesei at Kaokoveld Plateau, Kunene Region, Namibia is perhaps the most famous, and significant of its occurrences and as show by this magnificent small cabinet specimen its aesthetic qualities as a species and in combination with Quartz and Malachite are spectacular. Ex Kessler Collection.
