Azurite (rare gem crystal)$4,800.00

Wire transfers available, to set up
A single, lustrous, metallic, bright azurite crystal showing the rarest form of azurite, a gem-quality transparency when backlit. Tsumeb was famous for azurite and must have produced 10,000 or more specimens - but only a few small pockets gave up gemmy crystals. This is a significant thumbnail specimen, which we first saw many years ago with Marshall Sussman (who was and remains well known for his Tsumeb collections and travels). It since went to Steve Smale, and now to us in a large deal with Steve for some of his small mixed specimens. This is super rare...no other locality produced 1 inch gem azurites! Notice the subtle growth phantoms within, something I personally have never seen in a large azurite crystal, courtesy of our photographer (under strong backlighting).
