Pyrite replacing Ammonite fossil$750.00

Wire transfers available, to set up
A surprising mineral replacement of fossil, that we had not seen come to market before, turned up in Tucson of 2025: a complete pyrite replacement of an ancient ammonite fossil, from a recently mined locality in Poland. These are late Devonian Age, about 380 million years old. I am told that the location has produced material in the past, but a large collection was assembled and only recently released to the market, which explains the variety of shapes and styles. We bought a large group of this material, supposedly the best of the finds, from Polish specialist Tomek Praszkier, in early 2025. This was, for my tastes, one of the better miniatures for its robust size and shape, and that it was complete when many were smaller or only partial.
