This spectacularly large plate (17 cm in length) of Fluorite crystals is very obviously from the Wölsendorf Fluorite Mining District in Bavaria, Germany, displaying the classic pale camouflage-green to apple-green colour, thick pure bed of fluorite (in this case up to 4.5 cm wide), and with the iconic red, hematite-included, zonation along one edge of the Fluorite cubes. Additionally, a few small patches of white Baryte coat the surface and a few scattered tiny golden Pyrite crystals are evident too. There is notable damage to be seen, in the form of one or two cleaved corners of Fluorite crystals and some abrasion to the edges of other crystals, but due to the sheer size of this plate, the focus is on the whole display rather than odd individual crystals, and it certainly displays very nicely, especially with directional lighting picking out its great internal translucency. Overall, the Fluorite crystals reach up to 1.2 cm on edge and have good lustre, which is picked up as the specimen is rotated due to the classic Wölsendorf alignment of crystal faces parallel to each other.
