Fluorite
The Brandenberg mine in the Freiburg Region, Baden-Württemberg, Germany was worked for fluorspar until the 1970s but it was after this that it became renowned for remarkable blue Fluorite crystals. Other colours were found too, including the colourless large crystal aggregate seen here. With individual glassy crystals reaching 3.5 cm on edge this is quite a striking piece and although there is some damage, including a cleaved corner to one of the main crystals, there are also very large perfect crystals too. An impressive size crystallized Fluorite from this famous mine.
