This golden amber coloured plate of cubic glassy Fluorite crystals comes from the famous Villabona Mining Area in Asturias, northern Spain. Most specimens from this area are simply documented as "Villabona mines" indicating that the specific source was concealed. The full history of this piece is not known but the Villabona mines produced richly crystallized amber-coloured specimens like this in the 1970s and 1980s, and again in the 2010s. At large miniature in size it presents very nicely with its rich colour. The crystals are well-formed and exceptionally reach 1 cm on edge, although most are 4 to 5 mm across. Ex Arvid Pasto Collection.
