Tucson, Arizona, USATeufelsgrund mine at Münstertal in the Black Forest, Baden-Württemberg, Germany was a fluorspar producer until 1954, but Fluorite mineral specimens are now rarely seen. This classic, cabinet-sized specimen shows a combination of a bed of finely crystallized glossy purple cubic crystals (to 4 to 5 mm) with a much larger (over 2 cm on edge) elongated cuboid crystal of the same colour but slightly lesser lustre. Added to this are contrasting creamy white cockscomb aggregates of bladed Baryte and smaller Galena crystals. This combination is highly distinctive of Teufelsgrund mine but is usually only seen in much older material, suggestive of this being a quite historic piece. Ex Jesse Fisher Collection.
