Fluorite specimens from Harrachov in the Liberec Region, Bohemia, Czech Republic are rarely seen outside of Eastern European collections making this lovely miniature specimen from Arvid Pasto's worldwide Fluorite collection all the more remarkable. It is not only a nice purple colour, but it has a certain complexity to its crystal form with an apparent combination of cubes with pyramidal sides. The mines at Harrachov closed during the 1990s and it is highly likely that this piece dates from that period, or earlier. It also features in print as figure 107 in Pasto's 2009 book, Collector's Guide to Fluorite.
