Frohnau at Annaberg-Buchholz in the Annaberg District, Erzgebirge, Saxony, Germany is one of the most heavily mining areas in Germany, in not Europe. With over 50 individual mines within the surroundings of Frohnau it is often impossible to ascribe an individual locality to some specimens. As miniature Fluorite specimens go this one is exquisite, with sharp, damage-free, exceptionally gemmy cubic crystals with a colour and zonation classic to Frohnau - amber/beige with darker brown outer edges. Additionally, a very fine dusting of minute colourless Quartz crystals can be seen of the surface of the Fluorite. A really very fine German Fluorite miniature.
