This is a really unusual small cabinet-sized crystallized Fluorite from the famous Heißer Stein mine in the Wölsendorf Fluorite Mining District, Upper Palatinate, Bavaria, Germany. The cubic crystals are deep purple externally with paler interiors but it is the apparent dissolution of several of the crystals from the inside outwards which is the most striking feature and very unusual. It is certainly a very strange form of crystallization and has left some of the crystals completely hollow and some with a later infilling of clay.
