I started collecting rocks and minerals when i was 6 years old. I still have the very first rock i ever collected -- rose quartz from the Sierra Nevada foothills near Kernville, CA. These days, I am a retired geophysicist; I collect by frequenting live shows on social media, and by attending major gem and mineral shows in person.
