My passion for mineral collecting began in college while studying geology at Colorado State University. Local pegmatite deposits near Fort Collins, CO provided my first self-collected specimens, and from that moment I was completely hooked.
Since then, my collection has grown to include specimens from around the world, ranging from thumbnails to larger display pieces. Aesthetics guide my more recent acquisitions. I am continually in awe of nature’s beauty in minerals and these inorganic sculptures created by the laws of chemistry and physics.
Although I collect broadly, I especially enjoy the hunt for new additions to my subcollections. Current areas of focus include quartz specimens and pegmatite minerals from the Boulder Batholith.
I especially enjoy this hobby with my wife, Kathy.
