104 grams of intense Himalaya red-magenta tourmaline, unusually strong and unusually bright and happy inside with sparkle, in a crystal that is a pristine and undamaged floater! This is complete all around, with no repairs nor restorations visible. However, under a UV light, with care, we can see a fine lock-fit repair about an inch down from the pointed prismatic termination (very cleanly done, hard to see). Mined by and from the Bill Larson collection. Bill was the owner of the Himalaya Mine for decades during its heyday, from the late 1970s into the early 2000s. The color on Himalaya tourmalines is variable depending on the light. When you get this in the right light spectrum, it glows with unusually strong color, atypical and top of the curve for this mine. Photos do not well convey this. Note that the piece can stand on the flat (basal) termination; but we recommend that it be displayed in a custom base with the flat termination up, as that tip has more breadth, depth of color and translucency, and is lustrous atop. However, it really could display any which way, sideways as well....a good problem to have!
