Exceptional and unusual vivid magenta color makes this one stand out; I've seen very few tourmalines with this coloration. When viewed from the bottom, the unusual triangular zoning is reminiscent of liddicoatite from Madagascar: bands of black, olive green, gray, pale pink, and vivid magenta appear to alternate. I acquired this on a trip to Minas Gerais, Brazil, at a small shop in Teofilo Otoni. It needed lab work, after which it yielded a fine specimen. Specimen is repaired and has restorations on some edges, professionally done and not noticeable without close inspection or UV light. Dimensions are approximate; see photos for scale. See photos/videos for specimen with backlight (best color), with no backlight, and under UV light to show lab work.
