Cerussite included with Rosasite
Rosasite and cerussite form a very rare combination for the famed Tsumeb Mine. Most often this occurs with cerussite crystals growing on rosasite after it has pseudomorphed another mineral such as azurite or malachite. Here, the tables are turned, with the greenish-blue Rosasite partially coating both the matrix and a series of cerussite crystals in an even more-rare combination. The twinned cerussites are translucent, with the individual crystals averaging about 1.4 cm. Attractive, this highly unusual combination from the great Tsumeb Mine, with its rarity and quality, is special in its own right. 1960s or earlier. Dr. Erika Pohl-Ströher - 39174
